After the Storm: Two Years On

Stories of Survival and Resilience after Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan)

This is a collection of stories marking the two-year anniversary
of Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).

Produced by the Recovery Assistance for Yolanda (RAY) team,
as part of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG),
the Republic of the Philippines.

The stories focused on RAY Batch 1 big-ticket projects from 93 local government units (LGUs) heavily affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda. The big-ticket projects received funds that ranges from Php 1.5 million and above.

Each story focused on RAY DILG Batch 1 projects (provincial/city/municipal halls, public markets and civic centers), LGU and direct beneficiaries whose livelihood and community improved after the projects were completed.

To commemorate the anniversary, the RAY team spoke with survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda: those whose lives are affected by the RAY DILG projects.
These are their stories.
